Irish Dance.

Beginner classes for ages 4 & up

Our Beginner I & II program aims to foster a love for Irish dance and music in a fun and encouraging environment. Beginning students have the opportunity to perform in front of family and friends at the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and festivities and other school and community performance venues throughout the year!

Beginner 1 (30 minutes) and Beginner II (1 hour) focus on developing familiarity with Irish music and building Irish dance fundamentals. They also learn proper stretching, warm up, cool down, counting music, positioning, and dance etiquette in a positive environment.​

Beginner I – 5:00pm – 5:30pm – $65 per month
Beginner II – 5:30pm – 6:30pm – $80 per month
Adult – 6:30pm – 7:30pm – $80 per month

June: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th for a four week session with Andy

August: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd for a four week session with Dan

Daniel Triggle, TCRG

Daniel Triggle began dancing at the age of seven in Bristol United Kingdom, for the prestigious Sean Eireann McMahon school. During Daniel’s competitive career, he claimed the title of British National Champion and taken a coveted 2nd place at The All Irelands, All Scotlands, European Nationals, American Nationals and The World Championships. He also competed in Ceili teams and Choreography, coming in 1st for the World Title consecutively for 2004, 2005 & 2006. 

In 2006 Daniel performed in ‘Gaelforce’ and ‘Rhythm of the Dance,‘ where he was cast as the male leading role. In 2007 he began touring the world with Riverdance, performing around the world in such places as the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Europe, Russia, Taiwan, China and Japan. Daniel has performed in some of the most famous theaters in the world, his favorite being Radio City Music Hall in New York City. In 2009 Daniel obtained his TCRG certification in Irish dance instruction.

Daniel moved to Raleigh, NC in 2012 and became head instructor at the Trionoide Academy of Irish Dance. During his time here, he introduced a strong Ceili and Choreography team program as well as helping many of the dancers reach new highs in their competitive careers. In the six years Daniel was a part of Trionoide Academy the school acquired numerous Solo, Ceili and Choreography Regional Championship titles, two National titles, and several Worlds placements.

In 2019, Daniel took over ownership of Trionoide Academy of Irish Dance and rebranded as the Triggle Academy of Irish Dance. Daniel wishes to continue to bring joy and success to all his students and is excited for the future of Triggle Academy.

Andy O’Reilly, TCRG

Andy started dancing at the age of nine in Bristol, UK. He excelled competitively, becoming the North American, All Ireland, British National, Great Britain and All Scotland Champion. He also won three gold medals at the World Championships for team dancing. His professional career began alongside Michael Flatley in an arena tour of Celtic Tiger. Andy then joined Riverdance touring the world as Dance Captain of the Irish Troupe. Andy was also a member of ‘Prodijig,’ the group who went on to win Sky1’s ‘Got to Dance’ in front of a television audience of 1.2 million.

Andy has a passion for choreography, assisting in projects such as ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and ‘Laochra.’ Andy co-directed and choreographed a version of ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ which went on to tour China for a 12-week run. Notable performances include dancing for Queen Elizabeth II and performances at Radio City Music Hall and James Corden’s ‘Late Late Show.’

In 2008, Andy became qualified as a TCRG with CLRG and has taught many workshops across the world. Andy is delighted to be a part of the Triggle Academy and to be able to have the possibility to pass on his knowledge to the next generation of Irish Dancers.
